I just received word that Griffin and Zoe, my two precious, loving dogs were the only animals left behind by the SPCA rescuers. WHY?! Why would the SPCA do such a horrible, horrible thing? Just when I thought my heart couldn't sink any deeper, it has....

I am very, very sorry for your loss. I would be devastated to lose my precious dog, so I can only imagine the pain you are feeling. I will pray that you are comforted.
Your story is unbelievably painful - it sounds like a nightmare. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you will be able to find peace.
What happened to you was a monstrous atrocity. I could not help but cry when I heard of your dogs' fate. I can only imagine the rage and pain that you are feeling right now. Our family will keep yours in our prayers.
As a former resident of New Orleans I was following the aftermath of the Katrina and I came across your family's search for Griffin & Zoe on Dogster. My heart goes out to you and your family. At least they are no longer suffering in those horrible conditions.
I fully intend to contact the ASPCA, using the email addy you supplied, and let them know how disappointing their actions were.
The LA SPCA is extremely pro pit bull--they were on the verge of launching a "Pit bulls are lovers not fighters" campaign just before the storm hit. While this is a tragedy, it probably has to do with the fact that their own headquarters are under water and most of the rescuing has been done by volunteers from out of state, some of whome have even taken dogs out of Louisiana without leaving any record behind. Others--some with say the initial HS even--are highly skeptical about certain breeds. Laura, the head of the SPCA, is a pit bull owner herself. I'm not saying that we shouldn't be upset, but be careful about directing your anger at the wrong people.
