If you are so inclined, you may ask the Louisiana SPCA why my dogs were left behind to die. Their general email address is info@la-spca.org. I have personal email addresses for many people in the organization, but will not publish them here unless I have to.

You won't be able to email anyone at the LA SPCA--their headquarters are under water. They have 5000 animals at the temporary shelter and six people working there. Many of the animal groups from other states are the ones who actually went to rescue the animals, in some cases taking them out of state without ever leaving a record with the SPCA. The Humane Society is particularly known for refusing to house any pit bulls in their shelter. The SPCA is actually mounting a pro-pit bull campaign, so I doubt that is was the organization itself that left the dogs behind. They have nearly 1000 pits at the temp shelter, so they obviously haven't turned others away. I'm just glad I was able to take mine with me.
